Renovated in 2010, the Specialty Clinic is located on the second floor of the hospital. The clinic offers patients access to specialty physicians right here, close to home! A specialist is a physician that focuses on specific areas of health care. We currently offer Cardiology, Dermatology, Endocrinology, Gastroenterology, General Surgery, Neurology, Podiatry, Psychiatry, Rheumatology and Urology. We also have a Behavioral Health Department and a full time Wound Care Nurse.

Behavioral Health

Featuring Tracy Banks-Geiger, Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Christina Lutz, Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor and Mr. Steve Braasch, Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor.

Cardiology

A Cardiologist is a heart doctor. You make an appointment with a Cardiologist if you are feeling pain or tightness in your chest. A Cardiologist can perform EKG tests to detect abnormal heart rates, rhythms and more. An EKG may be part of an exercise stress test. They can also perform cardiac catherizations and cardiac stress tests. Dr. Manazir has over 9 years experience in the field.

Endocrinology

Endocrinologists are doctors who practice in a field of biology and medicine that deal with glands and the hormones they create. They deal with all the processes in your body that make them work. Dr. Priyanka Gauravi is an endocrinologist who specializes in treating disorders of the endocrine system, such as diabetes and thyroid disorders.

Gastroenterology

A gastroenterologist is a specialist in diagnosis and treatment of conditions involving the digestive/gastrointestinal (GI) tract. These doctors are experts on how food moves through the digestive system and is chemically broken down, with nutrients being absorbed and waste excreted. Dr. James Olney has over 40 years experience performing colonoscopies and EDG (endoscopies).

General Surgery

A general surgeon is a physician who has been educated and trained in the diagnosis and preoperative, operative, and postoperative management of patient care. Surgery requires knowledge of anatomy, emergency and intensive care, immunology, metabolism, nutrition, pathology, physiology, shock and resuscitation, and wound healing.

Rheumatology

Rheumatologists specialize in a branch of medicine focusing on the diagnosis and treatment of rheumatic diseases. Rheumatologists treat arthritis, osteoporosis , autoimmune diseases, and pain disorders affecting joints. Morrison Community Hospital welcomes Dr. Mudappa Kalaiah who joins Dr. Amrit Anand.

Urology

A Urologist is best described as a surgical specialist who treats people for problems and diseases of the urinary tract and male reproductive system. Some of the organs they treat include the kidney, prostate, bladder, urethra, testes, penis and associated glands.

Wound Care Program

WOUNDS CAN BE PAINFUL AND HARD TO MANAGE.
We have created a Wound Care program to assist patients heal their wounds while educating them about proper treatment. The purpose of the Wound Care program is to provide a holistic, comprehensive approach to wound care management. So, whether you are having difficulty healing a surgical incision or suffering from a pressure ulcer, we will develop a treatment plan that is right for you. Our dedicated team includes a Wound Care certified nurse and physicians.

When is Wound Care needed:
Here are some common signs and symptoms to look for when you have a wound:

  • An increase in drainage of change in the color of the drainage
  • In increase in swelling
  • An increase in pain.
  • An increase in redness and/or tenderness around the wound site.
  • An increase in odor to the wound
  • A change in the odor of the wound.

Do I need a Referral for Wound Care?
Answer: Yes. Any physician can make a referral to the outpatient Wound Care program at Morrison Community Hospital. Once the referral is received, an appointment will be set up for the patient to meet with the certified wound care Nurse.
